The original landscape for the Amherst Town Common called for the inclusion of a music pavilion or a bandshell. Temporary structures had been constructed for events but were all eventually removed. I wanted to create a contemporary structure that had an element of transparency so it would not disrupt the surroundings of traditional architecture.
